Conditions of participation – Revell Design Contest

1. scope of application

These conditions of participation apply to participation in the Revell Design Contest. The organiser of the Design Contest is Revell GmbH, Henschelstraße 20-30, 32257 Bünde. By participating in Design Contest 2022, participants agree to take part in the Revell Design Contest in accordance with the terms and conditions of these conditions of participation.

2. participation in the Design Contest

Every natural person who has reached the age of 18 is eligible to participate.

Participation is exclusively by sending in the fully completed participation form and uploading one or more graphics created by the participant personally. Participation documents submitted by post will not be considered.

The deadline for participation is the end of 24.04.2022.

3. participant drafts

All participant designs must be submitted according to the Revell Design Contest guidelines (use of templates, high-resolution image or PDF).

Technical requirements (in case of winning):

The winning design must be sent as a printable file or open file.

File formats: Print PDF, InDesign, Illustrator, EPS, TIFF
Resolution: at least 300 dpi
Colour space: CMYK
Fonts: embed

Other requirements:

Participant designs are excluded from the Revell Design Contest if they do not meet the technical requirements have offensive, pornographic, racist, violence glorifying, discriminating or other illegal contents violate the rights of third parties (e.g. copyrights) or applicable legal provisions on data protection have already been published, in which third parties have rights.

4. preliminary round and final

The top designs are selected by a preliminary decision of a Revell jury. The remaining participants will not take part in the further course of the Revell Design Contest. Revell will inform all participants by e-mail by 24.04.2022 of their results in the preliminary decision.

The final ranking of the top candidates will then be determined in a final online voting process, which is public and takes place via the Facebook page of Revell GmbH (https://www.facebook.com/Revell). They will then be notified by e-mail with a request to contact Revell within seven calendar days.

In the event that a top three candidate or finalist does not contact Revell within seven calendar days of being notified of the outcome of the preliminary or final online voting process, Revell will again notify the candidate or finalist, requesting that he or she contact Revell within seven additional calendar days and announcing that the candidate will otherwise be excluded from the Revell Design Contest and that another participant will be selected in his or her place.

At its own discretion, Revell GmbH will publish the prize winners with their name, participant designs and their titles as well as their photo in the Revell newsletter, on the Revell social media channels and on the homepage.

5. prizes

The winner will receive a voucher for €250 for the Revell Online Shop and a kit of the model. The prizes are not transferable. Payment of the winnings in cash is not possible.

6. copyrights and granting of rights of use

The participants guarantee that they have all rights to the participant’s designs at their sole and free disposal.

Each participant grants Revell GmbH the exclusive, spatially, temporally and content-wise unlimited right to use their participant’s designs to the exclusion of the author in the event that they come first in the final decision. The right of use extends to all known types of use.

Revell GmbH shall be entitled to make changes to the participant’s designs covered by the above right of use or their titles in agreement with the author of these designs. Changes to the participant’s designs or their titles, for which the author cannot refuse his or her consent in good faith, are permitted.

Revell GmbH will take into account the author’s right to acknowledge his or her authorship of his or her participant’s designs and will label the participant’s designs with the author’s name in the usual manner.

7. early termination, exclusion of participants

Revell GmbH reserves the right to terminate the Revell Design Contest prematurely at any time and without giving reasons. Such premature termination may result, for example, from technical or legal obstacles to the implementation of the Revell Design Contest.

Furthermore, Revell GmbH is entitled to exclude individual participants from participation in the Revell Design Contest at its own discretion, e.g. because there is a suspicion that the excluded participants are violating these conditions of participation.

8. liability

8.1 Revell GmbH shall be liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence as well as in cases of injury to life, body and health.

8.2 The liability of Revell GmbH for slightly negligent breach of material contractual obligations shall be limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Essential contractual obligations are those obligations whose fulfilment is essential for the proper performance of the contract and on whose compliance the contracting party may regularly rely.

This limitation of liability applies to both contractual and tortious claims against Revell GmbH. Any claims of the customer against Revell GmbH arising from mandatory statutory liability, in particular under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) and in the event of the assumption of a guarantee, shall remain unaffected.

8.3 The right to raise the defence of limitation shall remain unaffected.

8.4 Clauses 8.1 to 8.3 shall apply mutatis mutandis in the event of liability of Revell GmbH for its legal representatives, employees and agents.

8.5 Unless otherwise provided above, any liability of Revell GmbH shall be excluded.

9. miscellaneous

The judges’ decision is final.

Employees of Revell GmbH are excluded from participation in the Revell Design Contest.

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the referral norms and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

Should a provision of these conditions of participation be or become invalid or should the conditions of participation unintentionally not contain a provision that is necessary in itself, the validity of the remaining provisions of these conditions of participation shall not be affected.

Revell GmbH reserves the right to postpone or refrain from launching the kit without giving reasons.
